Food and nutrition security course 2009
Dear Sir/ Madam, It is our pleasure to send you herewith the brochure of the upcoming Wageningen International training programme on food and nutrition security. Increasing food prices and their impact on food security in developing countries underlines the importance of the training programme on food and nutrition security. The programme focuses on knowledge and insights, skills and competencies on designing, implementing and monitoring programmes and policies on reducing hunger and alleviating malnutrition from a multi-sectoral perspective. The training programme aims at mid-career staff who play a key role in their countries as decision makers, programme developers, and implementers. We incorporate the latest trends and developments in our training programme for 2009. Characteristic of the Wageningen International approach is the focus on systems thinking, participation and learning, both in content as in facilitation. Participants will not only be equipped with knowledge and skills, they will return home with practical tools, action plans and insights in their own role and the conviction that they can make things work. The training programme is a great opportunity for participants to share ideas and experiences and build networks with colleagues from all over the world. A limited number of fellowships are available from the Netherlands Fellowship Programme (NFP). The fellowship will cover a.o. travel costs, course fees, and accommodation costs. For more information, please visit the NFP website: http://www.nuffic.nl/international-students/scholarships/asia-africa-latin-america-and-eastern-europe/the-netherlands-fellowship-programmes/the-netherlands-fellowship-programmes .
